The patient is a 65-year-old otherwise healthy male who had an episode of right groin pain in April 2018. He developed a slight bulge in the area over the ensuing months. He was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia by his primary care physician. and this led to his referral.
BMI 28.75, 6ft tall, 212#
Physical examination was unremarkable other than a reducible right inguinal hernia.
Surgery went well. He was told he could return to normal activity as soon as it was comfortable.
He followed up 3 weeks after surgery with no complaints. He took meds as needed for pain for 2 days after surgery.
His physical examination revealed well-healed surgical scars and no evidence of recurrence.
He was released and urged to continue to return to normal activity as tolerated.
